Can third parties obtain my MAC address?
No. Your MAC address is not exposed while browsing, and websites cannot access it. Kameleo does not spoof your MAC address, but this isn’t an issue because browsers have no ability to request or read it in the first place. Many privacy-focused users worry that a website might detect their real MAC address, but that’s simply not possible through a normal web browser.
When Does the MAC Address Matter?
Your MAC address only becomes a concern when you use software outside the browser, such as:
- Desktop apps
- Online gaming or poker clients
- .exe programs that establish their own network connections
These types of applications can read your MAC address locally and send it to their servers.
Kameleo cannot influence this, because Kameleo only manages fingerprints inside the browser it launches.
What Can You Do If You Need MAC Address Protection?
If you’re using software that is not browser-based and you want to hide or change your MAC address, you can use third-party tools designed for this purpose.
A common example is:
These tools allow you to modify your MAC address at the system level before running external applications.
