Why is VAT added to my purchase?
As an EU-based company, we are required to apply the VAT based on the customer’s billing location within the European Union. VAT is a mandatory tax on digital goods and services, and the percentage varies between EU countries, typically ranging from 17% to 27%.
Below is an example using the purchase of the Startup Plan, which costs €59. Since Germany was selected as the Country/Region that is in the European Union, a 19% VAT was applied, adding €11.21 in additional charges.

However, VAT will not be charged in the following cases:
- The customer is a business within the EU and provides a valid EU VAT number (reverse-charge applies).
- The customer is a business located outside the EU.
- The customer is an individual located outside the EU.
If you fall into one of these categories, VAT will be automatically removed during checkout once the correct billing details are entered.
Tip: VAT is calculated exclusively based on the billing country you enter during checkout. Selecting a non‑EU billing country will ensure that VAT is not applied.
