Setup Kameleo with Luminati Proxies

One of the simplest ways to change your IP with Kameleo is to connect to a proxy provided by Luminati. They have the largest residential proxy network in the world. You can find more than 35 million IPs from more than 195 countries.

See our article about the importance of proxies and the comparison between residential and datacenter proxies.

In this tutorial, we show you how you can integrate Luminati proxies into Kameleo.

Exclusive Residential IPs

This is the most preferred solution. Here you will receive a residential proxy that can only be used by you. So no one else will visit the websites from the same IP.

You will have to add a Zone on the Luminati website before you can connect to an Exclusive Residential IP.

Here we help you with the configuration

  • IP pool size: Select how many IPs you would like to allocate. We prefer to create a new zone for every profile.
  • Country: You can filter the proxies, but since we will use the API to select a country you can leave it on 'Any'.
  • Cooling period: For this time interval your IP won't be used by any other users. We prefer to set it for the maximum value, so account blocking won't happen because someone else is using the same IP to register on the same website.
  • All domains: We prefer to check the checkbox, so the cooling period applies to all domains. If you would like to save some bucks you can select just a couple of domains like facebook.

Once the zone is ready you can select it from the API tool

All you have to do is select the zone and the required country from the API tool. Luminati website will print the required proxy connection details that can be configured in the Kameleo profiles.

This way you can simply change your IP by using Kameleo with Luminati proxies.

Shared Residential IPs

The above method is the most bulletproof solution. If you prefer to save some money you can still have a very good result with Shared Residential Proxies. This means that there is a chance that the same proxy will be dedicated to another Luminati user as well. But the chances that he will use it for the same reason as you are very low. The decision is yours.

You will have to add a Zone on the Luminati website before you can connect to a Shared Residential IP.

Here the configuration is much more simple

  • Country: We prefer to select the country later at the API
  • IP pool size: This means that every time you connect to this proxy you will receive a random proxy out of 10000 random proxies.

If you are managing, for example, a Russian profile on websites with medium security you can simply create a shared residential proxy zone for it. At the API tool, you will always select Russia. This way every time you connect the websites with this profile a Russian IP will be used.

All you have to do is select the zone and the required country from the API tool. Luminati website will print the required proxy connection details that can be configured in the Kameleo profiles.

Shared Datacenter IPs

If you just simply want to change your IP Address with Kameleo and it is not a problem that your proxy is not residential, there is a much cheaper solution for you. These are the datacenter proxies of Luminati. You can select from more than 700 000 IPs from every country.

You will have to add a Zone on the Luminati website before you can connect to a Datacenter IP.

Here the configuration is the same as for Shared Residential IPs.

  • Country: We prefer to select the country later at the API
  • IP pool size: This means that every time you connect to this proxy you will receive a random proxy out of 20000 random proxies.

If you are managing, for example, a US profile on websites with low security you can simply create a shared datacenter proxy zone for it. At the API tool, you will always select the United Stated. This way every time you connect the websites with this profile a US IP will be used.

All you have to do is select the zone and the required country from the API tool. Luminati website will print the required proxy connection details that can be configured in the Kameleo profiles.

This way you can simply use a US IP by using Kameleo with Luminati proxies.

This is a much cheaper solution but as you can see some websites can tell that you are using a proxy anonymizer.

Residential Mobile IPs

Luminati enables you to connect the web through more than 7 million mobile proxies from all over the world. This is very useful when you are using a Mobile Profile.

You can simply add a zone for mobile IPs and configure it like Exclusive Residential IPs.
