Lightweight Proxy Changer

  • Created

As part of our commitment to improving Kameleo, we are planning to integrate a feature that allows users to manage proxy settings for multiple profiles directly within the main application. While this functionality is being developed, we’ve created a lightweight, standalone tool called the Proxy Changer to help users manage proxies across multiple profiles in the meantime.

The Proxy Changer is an easy-to-use solution for quickly setting and updating proxy configurations, providing similar functionality until the full feature is built into Kameleo itself.

Installation Instructions

  • Download the Proxy Changer v2.0.0.7zip file.
  • Unzip the contents into a directory of your choice.
  • Note: Make sure to start the Kameleo or Kameleo.CLI before launching the Proxy Changer.

Using the Proxy Changer

Upon launching the Proxy Changer, you’ll find an intuitive interface with two main sections: Proxies and Profiles.

  • Go to the "Proxies" tab to begin adding proxy details.
  • Fill in the required fields: Host, Port, Username, Password, and Type (supports HTTP, SOCKS5, and SSH).
  • Note: Once you initialize the Proxy Changer for the first time, a new file called proxy_config.json will be created in the same directory as the Proxy Changer executable. This file will store all your proxy settings.
Add Proxy.PNG.
  • In the "Main" tab, you’ll see Available Proxies and Available Profiles.
  • In "Available Proxies," each proxy is assigned a number. Enter the desired proxy’s number in the "Select Proxy Number" field.
  • Select one or more profiles from the "Available Profiles" list where you want to apply the proxy settings.
  • Click Run to apply the selected proxy to the chosen profiles.

Additional Features

  • Refresh Profiles: If the list of profiles has changed whilst using this software, you can simply click on "Refresh Profiles" where the new list of currently present profiles in the Workspace folder will appear.
  • Delete Proxies: If you made a typo whilst adding a new proxy, simply select the proxy from the "Available Proxies" section and press the DELETE key on your keyboard. A new prompt will appear asking whether you are sure that you want to delete the proxy details in question.

Important Notes

  • Closing Kameleo.CLI: It's important to note that the vast majority of information that this software is using, stems from the use of the Kameleo.CLI. If you close Kameleo.CLI, this software will not function properly.
  • Data Loss Warning: If proxy_config.json is deleted, all saved proxy data will be permanently lost. Ensure you have backups or take care not to delete this file unintentionally.
